M.G. Allison was an illustrator, poet, author, and businesswoman born in New York. She wrote for The Crisis , and she published in The Brownies’ Book as Madeline G. Allison. She served as a secretary for the NAACP—assistant to W.E.B Dubois—and as an editor for The Crisis magazine from 1921–22.
