May, a former Cave Canem fellow, reads poems from his recent collection, Hum (Alice James Books, 2013), as well as from his chapbooks, The Whetting of Teeth (Organic Weapon Arts, 2012) and The God Engine (Pudding House Press, 2009). Faizullah reads poems from her forthcoming collection Seam (Southern Illinois University Press, 2014), as well as other work.

Chop Suey Books, an independent bookseller, has been a Richmond literary institution since 2002.
