On April 23, 2008, Jeff Lodge and Patty Paine spoke with Chris Abani on Virginia Commonwealth University’s Qatar campus. Abani was in Doha as a guest speaker for the ongoing Image, Word, and Voice lecture series, a forum for writers and artists to discuss various topics of twenty-first century humanities.
