Nicky Beer

Nicky Beer’s first book of poems, The Diminishing House , will be published by Carnegie Mellon University Press in early 2010. Her poetry has been published or is forthcoming in AGNI , The Kenyon Review , McSweeney’s , Poetry , and TriQuarterly , and has been anthologized in The Best American Poetry 2007 (Scribner). She has received a Literature Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, a Ruth Lilly Fellowship from the Poetry Foundation, a Louis Untermeyer Scholarship from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, and a Discovery/ The Nation Award. Beer is currently a visiting poet at Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky, and will begin teaching at the University of Colorado Denver in the fall of 2009.
