Emily Vizzo

Emily Vizzo is a San Diego poet, editor, educator, and author of the essay, “A Personal History of Dirt,” which was noted in Best American Essays 2013 . Vizzo’s work has been published or is forthcoming in FIELD , The Journal , North American Review , and The Normal School . Vizzo serves as assistant managing editor at Drunken Boat , and volunteers with VIDA: Women in Literary Arts, Poetry International , and Hunger Mountain . She earned her MFA at Vermont College of Fine Arts and teaches yoga at the University of San Diego. Photo by Tara Given
