Debra Nystrom

Debra Nystrom is the author of four collections of poetry: Night Sky Frequencies: New and Selected Poems (Sheep Meadow Press, 2016), Bad River Road (Sarabande Books, 2009), Torn Sky (Sarabande Books, 2003), and A Quarter Turn (Sheep Meadow Press, 1991). Her poetry, fiction, and nonfiction have appeared in Conjunctions, The Kenyon Review, The New Yorker, and Ploughshares , among others, and have received awards from Five Points , the Library of Virginia, Shenandoah , the Virginia Commission for the Arts, and The Virginia Quarterly Review . Nystrom teaches in the MFA program at the University of Virginia and is currently at work on a memoir, You Didn’t Hear It From Me. Photo by Mia O’Neill
